We made it about half way through Half Blood Prince before unofficial little sister passed out.

Ehh, we’ll finish in the morning. I’m making Nutella croissants.

But I’m sad. I took a nap so I could stay up with them. So wide awake.

Really good lately, I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching this summer,

I ended the year pretty wounded, I’d done well but I was in a pretty bad mental state. Being out of NYC has been really good for me. I feel refreshed and ready to go back to school on the 25th.

Well, mostly ready…

Reblog if you want a bunch of “have you evers” and “would you rathers” in your ask box right now.

Ehhh. We’re at the point in the 5th movie where I hate everything so plzzzz.

I was inspired…

Where my Second Year teachers at?! (Firsties, pay attention to this post!)

It depends on the quiz I take. Sometimes Ravenclaw, sometimes Slytherin. I would personally pick Slytherin because I look great in green.

Side Note: it makes me very happy that autocorrect just capitalized Slytherin. It knows what’s important.

drawing-interrupted said: EDD: I know it's not a ed dare day but I never remember by questions so feel free to leave it in the box till it is an EDD! How do you deal with rolls are when you get a students name wrong? (Mispronouncing etc)

It happens a lot to me so I totally relate. Especially with the diverse cultures present at my school, I’m bound to make mistakes. I’m fine with all the Latin names but I am hopeless at all the French/ West African names.

I handle it by being honest with the kids. I remind them how many people I teach; that I will have the names by November but they need to be patient with me.

Then I write my full name on the board. I have two last names, one that’s easy and ones that’s Greek and very hard to spell and pronounce. I ask for volunteers to say it. No one ever can. Laughter ensues because it sounds hilarious when it’s said wrong. If I mess up students names, I apologize but ask them to remember how they all struggled with my tongue-twister name.

Particularly difficult names get spelled phonetically and added into my handwritten roll book

Harry Potter marathon with little brother and [unofficial] little sister.

They keep talking and distracting me. They’re both on Tumblr now so they have lots of Fandom things to share… I’m pretending I’ve never heard of Tumblr.

I’ll answer questions- education, artsy, life, w/e. I have a couple old EDD questions I forgot to answer.
